Bloons tower defence 5, like its other tower defence games is a strategy based game launched under the brand Bloons. Bloons first launched the simple tower defence game whose primary objective was to prevent the enemies from covering the map and reaching to the other end which was to be done by shooting enemies and building up towers.

Seeing the immediate popularity of this game, the brand decided to launch more games of the same category and thus came the entire series – from bloons tower defence to BTD 2, BTD 3, BTD 4 and finally the latest version called bloons tower defence 5 which is slated for a late 2011 release.
